More about halal certified
Is all the meat in this collection genuinely Halal certified?
Yes. Every product in the Halal Certified collection carries full Halal certification covering slaughter, processing, packaging, and dispatch through accredited Australian Halal certifying bodies. Certification is maintained at our supplier partners under regular third-party audit, not self-declared. Documentation is available on request through orders@costcutmeats.com.au.
What Halal certification authority certifies your meat?
Our suppliers work with recognised Australian Halal certification authorities including the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) and other accredited bodies. The specific certifying authority varies by supplier and may be listed on individual product pages. Certification documentation showing the issuing authority can be supplied on request for catering, religious, or compliance purposes.
How is Halal certification verified at the supplier level?
Our supplier partners maintain Halal certification through regular third-party audits conducted by the certifying authority. Audits check slaughter practices, supervision by trained Muslim slaughtermen, recitation of Tasmiyah, cross-contamination prevention between Halal and non-Halal production, traceability documentation, and packaging integrity. Certification is renewed on a regular cycle and can be withdrawn if standards are not maintained.
Can I get Halal certification documentation for catering or event use?
Yes. If you need certification documentation for a wedding, Eid celebration, mosque event, school catering, aged care facility, or any other compliance purpose, contact us before placing your order at orders@costcutmeats.com.au or call 0480 890 901. We can supply the relevant certification papers and confirm specific product certification status for your event planning.
Is the quality of Halal certified meat lower than your non-Halal range?
No. Every Halal certified product in this collection meets exactly the same quality standards as the rest of our range. Same grass fed Angus, same Wagyu marble scores, same minimum 21 day aging, same cryovac packaging, same cold chain delivery. The certification is in addition to our quality standards, not in place of them.
Does Halal slaughter affect the taste or texture of the meat?
No. Halal slaughter follows specific practices for the slaughter moment, but the cattle are raised, fed, and finished in the same way as non-Halal cattle from the same producers. Aging, butchery, packaging, and storage practices are also identical. Properly conducted Halal slaughter actually drains blood from the carcass more effectively than some non-Halal practices, which some butchers say improves shelf life. Taste and texture are determined by breed, diet, aging, and cooking, not by certification.
Are your Wagyu products Halal certified?
Yes, our Halal certified Wagyu range is available within this collection. Wagyu is sourced from accredited producers who maintain Halal certification across their production. Marble score, aging, and cut quality are identical to non-Halal Wagyu from the same producers. If you're sourcing Wagyu for a specific event with documentation requirements, contact us in advance to confirm certification status.
Can non-Muslims order from the Halal Certified collection?
Absolutely. The Halal Certified collection is open to anyone. Many non-Muslim buyers specifically choose Halal certified meat for personal reasons, ethical preferences, or because the certification process includes additional handling standards they value. The quality, sourcing, and delivery are identical to our standard range.
Do you deliver Halal certified meat to all of Australia?
Yes. The full Halal Certified range is available to every postcode we deliver to across Australia, with the same flat $30 shipping (free over $300 to most metro areas) as our standard range. Delivery is in insulated boxes with chilled gel packs maintaining cold chain integrity. Halal certified meat is packed separately from non-Halal products throughout our dispatch process.
Can I place bulk orders of Halal certified meat for events or catering?
Yes. For Eid celebrations, mosque events, wedding catering, restaurant supply, or community gatherings, we can supply bulk Halal certified orders with documentation. Contact orders@costcutmeats.com.au or call 0480 890 901 to discuss quantities, specific cut requirements, delivery timing, and any documentation needs. We recommend placing bulk catering orders at least 7 to 10 days in advance to guarantee stock and dispatch on your required date.
How is the meat packed to prevent contamination during delivery?
Halal certified products are packed in cryovac (vacuum sealed) packaging at the supplier level, with the Halal certification mark visible on the packaging. Within our cold chain shipping boxes, Halal products are packed separately from non-Halal products in dedicated insulated boxes. Cross contamination is prevented at every stage from supplier through dispatch to delivery.
Is the Halal Certified pricing the same as your non-Halal range?
Yes. Halal certified products are priced the same as the equivalent non-Halal cuts from the same suppliers. We don't charge a premium for certification, the price reflects the cut, breed, vendor, and any current specials. Some Halal certified cuts appear in our Sale collection from time to time at additional discount, marked clearly with the Halal certification visible on the product page.
